Foundations of School Counseling

Catalog description

A particular emphasis will be given to the role and function of the school counselor as a professional team member. The various roles of the school counselor will be presented within the American School Counseling Association's (ASCA) Comprehensive School Counseling Framework. Special emphasis will be given to the role of the school counselor as consultant, counselor, and coordinator. A major portion of this course is devoted to the live, onsite intensive, where faculty and students join for students' professional presentations and their counseling practice. The in-person intensive is required to pass this course.
