Catalog description

This course introduces students to the design of structural steel beams, columns, tension members, frames, trusses, and connections (bolted and welded) using the load and resistance factor design (LRFD) method. Special emphasis is placed on AISC specifications and manuals, and design software applications. Practical design project is normally included. Prerequisite: CIE-220.
