Catalog description

This general education lecture course introduces students to the principles of chemistry through the study of coffee roasting and brewing. Students explore the molecular and physical changes that occur from bean to beverage, connecting chemical bonding, solubility, energy, and reaction rates to real-world experiences. The course emphasizes the scientific method, critical thinking, and communication of science in everyday contexts. Co-requisite: CHE 123L. Prerequisite: Completion of preparatory math requirement
