This course introduces students to the fundamental concepts and practices of strategic planning, strategic foresight, and operational execution in business organizations. Students will learn how to think strategically and help organizations set long-term direction while anticipating future trends and managing day-to-day activities through operational planning. Emphasizing workforce-ready business competencies, students will develop skills in analyzing business environments, scanning emerging trends and disruptions, setting strategic priorities, creating action plans, and measuring performance. Students will learn the essential connection between "what we want to achieve" (strategy), "what the future may hold" (foresight), and "how we will achieve it" (operations), understanding that successful organizations need clear direction, future awareness, and effective execution. This course is part of the Operations Management and Strategy stackable certificate and prepares students for roles where they will contribute to planning processes, anticipate market changes, and help implement organizational strategies that position organizations for sustainable competitive advantage.
