Catalog description

This course is intended to develop deeper insight into the complexities of cell structure, function, and cellular processes with a focus on biosynthesis, cell signaling, regulation of proteins, and cell cycle/apoptosis. Throughout the course emphasis will be placed on how the dysfunction or disruptions in these cellular processes lead to disease of the organism. An understanding of common laboratory methodologies used in cell biology will also be discussed as a basis for understanding primary literature. A working knowledge of cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry is recommended.
