Catalog description

A bridge to gap the elementary and advanced levels in the further development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Students engage in intensive communication in spoken and written Spanish, and an understanding of Hispanic culture. Listening, speaking, reading and writing skills are developed. Emphasis is on vocabulary acquisition and interactive communication through the discussion of authentic texts, films, videos, music, etc. Upon completion, students should be able to discuss selected topics, express ideas and opinions clearly, and engage in formal and informal conversations. Prerequisite: SPA 238 or equivalent, or permission of the Foreign Language Department as students may not self-place in a language course.
