Catalog description

This interdisciplinary service-learning course, with a Christian worldview focus, provides students with hands-on experience delivering integrated services to underserved communities through focused outreach initiatives. Students work collaboratively with domestic or global entities and across healthcare disciplines to assess community needs, develop intervention strategies, and implement sustainable solutions while gaining cultural sensitivity and professional skills. Through structured reflection and practical application, students develop a deeper understanding of social determinants of health, interprofessional practice, and their role as ethical healthcare providers addressing disparities identified by the local community. This course involves a domestic or global trip to selected partner entity.
