Catalog description

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of project management and includes an immersive practicum experience emphasizing synthesis and application of new knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies from across the entire post-licensure RNBSN program of study. Students assume the leadership role of a project manager and utilize the strategic planning process to plan and propose an authentic, evidence-based quality improvement project that provides a feasible solution to an identified problem with emphasis on improved population/patient safety and/or health outcomes. The course also empowers the student to embark on a lifetime journey of personal and professional growth and development. Upon completing this course, the student will build on prior learning and evidence competency in the following AACN (2021) Level 1, Essential Core Competencies for Entry-Level Professional Nursing Education for Domain 9: Professionalism and Domain 10: Personal, Professional, and Leadership Development. Prerequisites: NUR-338, NUR-342, NUR-382, NUR-424, NUR-432, NUR-462, and NUR-474
