Catalog description

In this course, the student will use evidence-based methodologies to address complex health problems and promote optimal healthcare. Students will explore the complexity of healthcare systems and systems-based practices and delivery environments. Healthcare reimbursement processes and the impact of healthcare policies and regulatory requirements on patient care will be examined. Students will analyze the impact of system structures on meeting social determinants of health needs and promoting equity in healthcare. Upon completing this course, the student will build on prior learning and evidence competency in the following AACN (2021) Level 1, Essential Core Competencies for Entry-Level Professional Nursing Education for Domain 7: Systems-based practice.
