Catalog description

In this course, the student will apply established and emerging principles of safety, evidence-based science, and quality. The student will demonstrate the utilization of safe, quality care principles that enhance outcomes and minimize risk of harm to patients and providers through both system effectiveness and individual performance. Additionally, the student will demonstrate the value of collaborating intentionally with care team members, patients, families, communities, and other stakeholders to optimize care, enhance the healthcare experience, and strengthen outcomes. Upon completing this course, the student will build on prior learning and evidence competency in the following AACN (2021) Level 1, Essential Core Competencies for Entry-Level Professional Nursing Education for Domain 5: Quality and Safety; and Domain 6: Interprofessional Partnerships.
