Catalog description

This course focuses on the foundational principles of Emergency Nursing as a specialty. Application of the nursing process in the emergency department is emphasized in accordance with prioritization of differing patient care scenarios. Students will be examining the roles of the emergency nurse while gaining a baseline understanding of acute disease processes, patient-centered interventions, and interprofessional collaboration. Prerequisites: NUR-213 and NUR-250; Recommended to take prior to or concurrently with NUR-313 and NUR-355.
