Catalog description

Equips students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to become competent piano teachers for all levels. The principles most applicable to piano teaching will be extracted from learning theories, teaching methods, and treatises. The business aspects of piano teaching will also be discussed. Hands-on experiences will be accomplished through observations and active teaching duties. The class is required for piano majors pursuing a performance specialization and is strongly recommended for all piano majors. Non-piano majors must obtain permission from the course instructor. There are no prerequisites.
