Catalog description

Study of applied contemporary voice at the second-semester of sophomore level, establishing a foundation of vocal technique geared for a contemporary context. Lesson duration is half an hour per week, with a minimum of 3 hours of required practice per week. Instructors will choose pieces from Contemporary Christian Music (CCM), Gospel, Musical Theatre, or other contemporary genres. Proficiency in technical skills and performance is evaluated through a final performance or presentation (no jury required). Requires a private lesson fee. Prerequisite: MUS-126, MUS-127, and MUS-228.
