Encountering Music students will explore the rich and varied world of music through active listening, critical reflection, and spiritual engagement. Designed especially for non-music majors, this course helps students move beyond passive consumption to discover how music functions as art and shapes cultures. Students will develop essential musical vocabulary, attend live performances, and reflect on music as a gift from God. Students will gain tools to appreciate music more deeply, both familiar and unfamiliar, and consider how music shapes cultures, societies, and human experience.
