Catalog description

Brake Systems provides comprehensive instruction in the diagnosis, service, and repair of automotive hydraulic, power-assisted, and electronic brake systems. Students will study the principles of hydraulic braking including Pascal's law, brake fluid properties, and system design. The course covers disc and drum brake operation, master cylinder construction, power brake boosters, and anti-lock braking systems (ABS). Emphasis is placed on proper diagnostic procedures, component measurement, brake system testing, and adherence to manufacturer specifications and safety protocols.
