Catalog description

This foundational course introduces students to the automotive service profession careers and long-term pathways through hands-on experience with essential diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures. Students will develop competency in shop safety protocols, proper tool usage, and vehicle service information research while learning to diagnose and service engine systems, lubrication systems, and cooling systems. The course emphasizes professional workplace practices, including accurate completion of repair orders, compliance with industry standards, and safe handling procedures for conventional vehicles, electric vehicles (xEVs), and vehicles equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
