Indiana Wesleyan University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This integrated course develops quantitative reasoning and scientific literacy through real-world investigations. Students analyze environmental data, model carbon footprints, evaluate energy efficiency, explore population dynamics, interpret climate projections, and apply force-motion principles. Mathematics is introduced "just in time" within authentic science scenarios, emphasizing proportional reasoning, rate calculations, statistical analysis, and functional thinking. Through mastery-based assessments, students demonstrate their ability to interpret data, communicate evidence-based conclusions, and connect quantitative reasoning to ethical stewardship and informed decision-making.
