Students in this course will apply the mechanics of healthcare financing in the post-Affordable Care Act era, assess the financial health of healthcare organizations, and incorporate revenue cycle processes to support organizational success. Students will determine appropriate financing based on cost effectiveness and cost utility, assess third party payer systems and reimbursement methods, evaluate business opportunities using various measures of financial risk and rates of return, and analyze cost measurement and allocation processes for acquiring and financing assets. Finally, students will integrate the Virtuous Business Model into healthcare financial decision-making.
