This course provides a comprehensive exploration of instructional methods, strategies, and resources for effective elementary teaching, emphasizing the integration of biblical values, cultural responsiveness, and global awareness. Teacher candidates will examine and apply teacher-centered, student-centered, shared-centered, and technology-enhanced approaches to lesson and unit planning, aligning instruction with academic standards and best practices. The course emphasizes meeting the diverse needs of all learners through differentiated instruction and universal design for learning, supported by the thoughtful use of both high- and low-technology tools. Candidates will engage in critical analysis of classroom practices, collaborative projects, and field experiences, developing skills in assessment, communication with families, and the creation of inclusive, supportive classroom environments. Successful completion of the course prepares candidates to design, implement, and evaluate instruction that fosters academic growth, social-emotional development, and equitable learning opportunities for every elementary student.
