Catalog description
This course examines principles and practices of classroom assessment with an emphasis on using student data to inform instructional decision-making across content areas, including mathematics, writing, and other disciplines. Teacher candidates develop the knowledge and skills to design, select, administer, and interpret a variety of formative and summative assessments. Candidates will engage in data-driven decision-making cycles, communicate assessment results effectively, and reflect instructional adjustments to improve student outcomes across content areas. This course is designed to help students understand the importance of using valid and reliable classroom assessments as a catalyst for student learning.
