Catalog description

Survey course explores a broad array of the visual arts, revealing their roles, themes, trends, and impact on individuals and culture, from prehistoric to contemporary times. Anchored in practicing the Christian life of loving God and neighbor, students will examine what art is and how it affects people. Through hands-on projects, discussions, a museum visit, and reflective analysis, learners will sharpen their creative, artistic, observational, and communicative skills. Designed for all majors, the course cultivates the growth of visual/spatial intelligence, creativity, humble/patient listening, to God and others, collaboration, and a profound appreciation for art's role in daily life.
