Exploring Drawing for Health Sciences

Catalog description

Grounded in the call to love God and love our neighbor, this course invites students to develop visual communication strategies and make visual studies of anatomy as they explore the contemporary and historical intersection between the arts and sciences. To amplify their observational, artistic, and communication skills, students will learn to use simple art materials to create drawings and visual notes. The projects used to activate these skills, could include but are not limited to: still-life drawing, anatomical sketching, drawing as a means of self-care, therapy, and drawing for patient education. No art background is required. Lab fee: $40 to cover studio art supplies
