This course examines principles and practices of assessment in special education with an emphasis on using student data to inform instructional decision-making across content areas, including mathematics, literacy, and other disciplines. Teacher candidates develop the knowledge and skills to design, select, administer, and interpret a variety of assessments.? Candidates will gain skill in managing data-driven decision-making cycles, communicate assessment results effectively, and reflect instructional adjustments to improve student outcomes across content areas. This course is designed to help students design, choose, adapt, administer, and interpret valid assessments as a catalyst for student learning in a special education setting.
