This course provides educators with a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical frameworks, evidence-based practices, and instructional strategies necessary to foster effective reading acquisition among students of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Course outcomes align with International Dyslexia Association (IDA) standards, with the goal of helping educators begin to build the knowledge and skills that emphasize the role of the science of reading in literacy instruction and intervention. This course requires field experiences.
