Catalog description

The course is designed to provide students with more in-depth understanding of naturalistic, qualitative research methods. Students will review philosophical assumptions underlying qualitative paradigms and will learn about design, purposeful sampling, field work, and data collection methods. Course will introduce students to current data analysis techniques and computer software used to analyze qualitative studies. Students will also gain first-hand experience in the qualitative research process by designing and conducting a study, analyzing and interpreting their data, and writing and presenting a report on their findings.
