Catalog description

This course is a continuation of MBA 6861, Becker CPA Exam Review 1. The Becker CPA Exam Review is a four-part review program designed to prepare students to sit for the Uniform CPA Exam. In this course, students will choose the remaining two of the four exam review sections listed below. The CPA Exam is built on a Core-Plus-Discipline Model which requires candidates to be skilled in a core basis of accounting, auditing, and tax, as well as one discipline section. The three core exams which are taken by all candidates are: Audit and Attestation (AUD) - tests knowledge of auditing procedures, generally accepted auditing standards, and other attestation engagements. Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) - covers financial accounting concepts, standards, and reporting for various entities, including governmental and non-profit organizations. Taxation and Regulation (REG) - focuses on ethics, professional responsibilities, and federal taxation, including individual and entity taxation. In addition to the three core exams, candidates will choose one of the following three discipline exams: Business Analysis and Reporting (BAR) - emphasizes financial planning, analysis, and reporting for business entities. Information Systems and Controls (ISC) - covers information technology, cybersecurity, and internal controls. Tax Compliance and Planning (TCP) - focuses on tax compliance, planning, and strategies for individuals and businesses.
