Quantitative Reasoning

Catalog description

This course develops quantitative reasoning skills through the analysis and modeling of real-world situations. Topics include interpreting data to construct and analyze linear models; solving and interpreting algebraic equations and inequalities to represent variables and constraints; and creating and analyzing graphs of linear and piecewise functions. Students apply mathematical models to personal finance contexts, including simple and compound interest, and use data analysis, probability, and basic statistics to support informed decision-making. Emphasis is placed on interpreting results, evaluating reasonableness, and communicating quantitative conclusions using appropriate technological tools.
