This course focuses on the exploration of the health informatics data and how it is transformed into meaningful, actionable information. Through this course students will explore data informatics concepts including, but not limited to, Health Information Exchange, Rules and Regulation of healthcare data privacy in Research, Shift in Health Care to the Patient-Centered approach, Database Search approaches, and Maintaining Healthcare Database integrity. Such areas will enable the student to have the knowledge and analytical mind-set needed to recommend policy and procedures for healthcare data governance and management.
