Catalog description

Participants in this course will examine the major laws that impact the decision making of higher education leaders and critically analyze higher education legal processes, rights, responsibilities, duties and liabilities of faculty, administrators, and students for navigating and managing the legal environment of higher education. Topics such as admissions, academic freedom, affirmative action, collective bargaining, disability rights and access/use of electronically accessed information, due process, free speech, financial aid, licensure, and privacy, as well as studies from constitutional, statutory, and case law will be addressed.
