Academic leadership in higher education is a changing and demanding role. This course provides an overview of the responsibilities for those who would establish and maintain the academic standards of the university. Topics to be examined will include curricular alignment with the mission; curriculum management and delivery; recruitment, training, promotion, and retention of faculty; accreditation and public policy issues such as access, affordability, equity and inclusion, funding for academic research.
