Catalog description

An introduction to the topics and issues related to guiding a university in the complexities and climate of the 21 st century. Issues covered will include mission, vision, and function of public, private, not-for-profit, and for-profit colleges and universities; leadership roles; governance functions including shared governance, union, and non-union governance models; advancement, fundraising, and relationships with internal and external constituencies. An underlaying emphasis examines how culture, national and international politics, and institutional mission inform higher education leadership.
