Catalog description

This course explores language acquisition and literacy development from birth through adolescence. Key concepts include the development of language, speech, reading, and writing skills, as well as factors that impact the acquisition of these skills. Major theories and components of language, sociocultural influences on language and literacy development, language disorders, and children’s literature are also examined.
