Catalog description

Prerequisite: None Corequisite: None Description: Examines IDEA legislation and evidence-based practices to support adolescents with disabilities, as well as students with diverse learning needs identified in the Perkins Act as “special populations,” during transition assessment and the transition process. Introduces construction of individual learning plans to foster independence, evaluate interest, determine strengths and needs, promote self-exploration, and self-determination. Identifies interagency supports available and promotes cooperation and community engagement to create transition partnerships to support students with diverse learning needs within the career and technical education setting.
