Description: Surveys various eras of theatre grouped into major topics including but not limited to: Tragedy and Women, Gender, and Identity. Examines and analyzes how the plays reflect the social and historical contexts of these topics, especially how perceptions of tragedy have changed, and how issues regarding women, gender, and identity have evolved throughout the centuries. Demonstrates how playwrights, designers, directors, and other theatre-makers have presented and staged these issues, and how audiences have received them. Cross-Listed: No
