Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Description: Reviews litigation and legislation leading to the legal requirement for the provision of Transition Planning for adolescents with disabilities to include post-secondary education and training, employment, and community living outcomes. Develops competencies in the skills necessary to help students with disabilities make a successful transition from school to adult life. Addresses the importance self-determination and other personalsocial characteristics that must be identified and supported by the transition team throughout the transition planning/implementation process. (Also offered as DISB 458 ; may not be taken for duplicate credit.)
