Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Prerequisite: Instructor Permission Corequisite: NA Restriction: NA Description: Introduces current theories of language acquisition processes in children and/or novice-level learners. Applies foundational principles of proficiency-based and learner-centered instruction, including applications for the elementary-school level. Develops World Language instructional objectives and activities that integrate language and cultural learning. Implements techniques and hands-on practices for teaching functional language, planning lessons, setting curricular objectives, and selecting/designing materials appropriate to the needs and interests of elementary-level and novice world language learners.
