Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Prerequisite: SOCI 151 or SOCI 161 Description: Studies health disparities in rural areas and public health interventions to address those disparities. Includes social, economic, political, and cultural influences that impact the health of individuals and families in rural settings, as well as the strategies for improving health status through culturally appropriate and effective interventions and services. Considers the impact of race, gender, and sexual orientation on health status and access to services in rural regions.
