Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Prerequisite: CHEM 101 , MATH 105 , or instructor permission Description: Teaches the fundamental concepts involved in the protection of people and property from fire and explosion. Basic fire safety terminology, fire chemistry and extinguishment, fire safety references and standards, and fire program management are discussed. Also discusses control measures for common fire and explosion hazards and the design of buildings in terms of life safety and fire suppression systems.
