Catalog description

Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Prerequisite: Sophomore standing; safety, health, and environmental applied sciences majors/minors only or instructor permission Description: Provides the ability to apply the theories of learning and communication to aid in becoming effective oral and written safety, health, and environmental communicators and trainers. Designs and delivers training programs using modern technology and charismatic engagement tools. Develops communication skills to convince management and employees to embrace and implement safety initiatives and to communicate with regulators and the public regarding safety, environmental, and health issues. Develops a range of written documents, such as safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures and/or programs, inspection and audit reports, and program and risk assessment and exposure reports and then communicates summaries of these documents orally.
