Class Hours: 0 Lab/Discussion: 1 Credits: 1 Prerequisite: RESP 326 and RESP 329 and RESP 331 with a C or better, or by Program Director permission. Corequisite: RESP 326 and RESP 329 and RESP 331 with a C or better, or by Program Director permission. Restriction: RESP Care major. Description: Provides laboratory experiences to assure competency in mechanical ventilation of the adult patient. Simulates the initiation and weaning of patients from mechanical ventilation, adjusting ventilator parameters based on patient-ventilator interaction and pathophysiology, Recognizes and corrects complications of mechanical ventilation through waveform analysis and patient assessment.
