Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Prerequisite: PHYS 112 or PHYS 132 ; MATH 122 or MATH 126 Description: Covers the history of modern physics. Explores particle and wave properties of matter using the ideas of quantum mechanics. Examines systems using the ideas of quantum and classical mechanics. Covers the special theory of relativity. Solves some of the problems using computers. First part of a two-part series.
