Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Description: An investigation of issues in the philosophy of language and related issues in linguistics (including anthropological linguistics, sociolinguistics, and psycholinguistics). Topics include, for example, the influence of language on perception, rationalist/empiricist perspectives on language acquisition, language and political control, reference, meaning, and truth.
