Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Description: Examines historical and contemporary work on fundamental issues in ethical theory, with an emphasis on the three major approaches in normative ethics: consequentialism, deontology, and virtue ethics. Also explores select topics in contemporary metaethics, such as the meaning of moral discourse, the possibility of moral knowledge, and the nature of reasons and moral motivation.
