Catalog description

Prerequisite: BIOL 150 and BIOL 240 and NURS 210 Corequisite: NURS 206 and NURS 207 or by permission Description: Introduces health assessment principles and the nursing process for the purpose of determining a client’s health status. Develops a comprehensive health history, including cultural considerations, and physical assessment on adults and older adults. Incorporates concepts of human anatomy and physiology in the assessment of clients. Identifies appropriate health promotion strategies to improve client care. Communicate effectively during the client interview and document and report assessment findings appropriately. Utilizes clinical decision making to prioritize assessment findings when caring for adults and older adults.
