Prerequisite: MATH 102 or MATH 102A or MATH 105 or MATH 105A or MATH 110 or MATH 110A or [appropriate mathematics placement] or [permission of the Mathematical and Computer Sciences Department Chariperson]; for majors that require it in Eberly College of Business or MIS-IT majors. Corequisite: none Description: Focuses on polynomial and exponential models and their applications in business. Explores analytic methods for interpretation of numerical, graphical, and algebraic data sets generated from contextual information. Introduces the central ideas of calculus with particular emphasis on the derivative as rate of change for marginal analysis, and definite integral as the total accumulation or net change in a quantity.
