Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Prerequisite: Sophomore standing, 3cr of college history Description: Surveys the principal themes in European history since 1945. Topics include postwar reconstruction, the origins of the Cold War in Europe, the long years of economic growth followed by stagnation, decolonization of the British and French empires, the events of 1968 and their consequences, the experience of communism in the East Bloc, the revolutions of 1989, and progress toward European integration.
