Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Prerequisite: Grade of “C” or better in HDFS 218 AND HDFS 224 , or instructor permission Corequisite: none Restriction: none Description: Focuses on early intervention policies and laws that relate to services for children from birth to school age, including the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process. Emphasizes ways to assist families in their roles as team members in the early intervention process, taking social, linguistic, economic, and cultural diversity into consideration. Provides practical information needed when working in early intervention settings.
