Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Prerequisite: FINA 320 and FINA 324 or equivalent/permission for FIN 425 and FINA 324 or equivalent/permission for FIN 525 Dual Listed: May be dual listed with ECON 525. Description: Provides an understanding of how the derivatives markets work, how they are used, and how prices are determined. Includes the common types of derivatives, their characteristics and properties, and trading methods and strategies. Also, covers fundamental pricing models based on arbitrage pricing theory, binomial, and Black-Scholes models.
