Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Prerequisite: EEDH 215 , deaf studies minor or permission Description: Focuses on the use of sign language in the schools, first responder situations, and community outreach events. Includes the adaptation of American Sign Language to Manually Coded English and Signed English, basic principles of interpreting in an educational setting for future teachers of deaf and hard-of-hearing students, and pedagogical methods of including American Sign Language as a language of instruction for deaf students.
