Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Restriction: Early childhood education/special education major Description: A survey of literature for children from preschool to adolescence. Selection and evaluation criteria for various genres, including visual and literary elements, are the foundation. Emphasis will also be placed on multicultural literature and literature for diverse learners. Stresses motivational approaches for encouraging children’s engagement with and response to literature.
